The 2026-2027 academic year is officially underway at STC Higher Education, with students across our University of Wolverhampton and NCC Education programmes coming together for their induction.
The induction sessions provided a welcoming introduction to the 2026–2027 academic year, giving students the opportunity to meet the STC team, learn more about their programmes and understand what to expect as they progress through their studies.
Students were welcomed by members of the Administration Team, while our Academic Managers, Mr. Owen Sevasta (Business School) and Mr. Steven Camilleri (Computing School), introduced the academic structure and spoke about the different stages of each programme. They also took students through the wider academic pathway, helping them understand how their current programme connects with the qualifications and opportunities that follow.
Our Head of Institution, Ms. Ana Pace Bonello also joined the induction sessions to welcome students and introduce herself, giving them the opportunity to meet another familiar face within the STC community.
Getting to Know the STC Community
The sessions were designed to help students feel comfortable in their new environment and get to know more about life at STC.
Students also had the opportunity to explore the STC campus and familiarise themselves with the facilities, while receiving a special token from STC as part of their welcome and to mark the start of the new academic year.
To make the sessions more focused and relevant to each student, the groups were divided according to their programme and area of study. This allowed the academic leaders to give students more specific information about their course, answer questions related to their studies and give them the opportunity to engage more directly with the academic team.
Building the Foundations for Further Study
Our Pre-University programmes (MQF Level 4) provide an alternative pathway for students progressing from their O’ Levels and looking to continue their education in a higher education environment.
These one-year Diplomas in Business and Computing offer an alternative to traditional sixth form, allowing students to begin their higher education pathway from an earlier stage.
Through NCC Education, a UK awarding institution, students start working towards a UK qualification from day one. Along the way, they develop the academic knowledge and practical skills needed for further study, with the opportunity to progress to higher-level qualifications and continue towards an Honours degree.
Starting the Degree Journey
For students starting their degree journey, these programmes form the first year of their degree in either Business or Computing.
Students follow the same degree pathway from the outset, developing their academic knowledge and practical skills as they work towards an Honours degree.
At every stage, our aim is to provide students with a supportive learning environment where they can develop academically while gaining practical knowledge and skills relevant to their future.
Starting a University of Wolverhampton Degree
Our University of Wolverhampton induction brought together students continuing their studies with the University, as well as those joining the UoW pathway for the first time.
Students can choose from a range of University of Wolverhampton programmes across Business and Computing, including:
- BA (Hons) Business Management
- BA (Hons) Business Management (Marketing)
- BA (Hons) Business Management (Human Resources)
- BSc (Hons) Computer Science
- BSc (Hons) Cybersecurity
Students also have the opportunity to continue their academic journey at postgraduate level through programmes such as the International MBA, MSc Computer Science and MSc Cyber Security.
With full-time and part-time study options available across selected programmes, students can choose a route that fits their academic and professional goals.
Looking Ahead to the January Intake
With the 2026–2027 academic year now underway, we are ready for the January Intake at STC Higher Education.
The January Intake will provide another opportunity for students to join our Business and Computing programmes, whether they are taking their first steps into higher education, progressing through an existing pathway or looking to continue their studies at postgraduate level.
Applications for the January Intake are now open, with students able to explore the programmes available and find the pathway that best fits their next stage of education.
