STC Higher Education has launched the new Integration Course for TCNs in Malta. The programme supports Third-Country Nationals who need to complete the course when renewing their Single Work Permit under the Malta Labour Migration Policy.

The Ministry for Home Affairs and Security introduced the 40-hour programme as part of Malta’s updated integration framework. It helps foreign workers better understand Maltese society while meeting the latest work permit renewal requirements.

STC Higher Education delivers the programme through weekly face-to-face sessions. It is designed for Third-Country Nationals who have completed their first year of employment in Malta. Throughout the course, learners explore Maltese heritage, civic responsibilities, and the country’s legal and institutional framework. They also develop skills in digital literacy, financial awareness, language learning, and personal development. As a result, they gain the knowledge and confidence needed for everyday life in Malta.

Successfully completing the Integration Course for TCNs in Malta may also support longer work permit renewals. Standard workers may qualify for a two-year renewal if they hold a matching employment contract. Furthermore, workers under specialised schemes, including KEI, SEI, and the EU Blue Card, may benefit from longer renewal periods.

STC Higher Education delivers the training programme, while the Government’s Department of Examinations coordinates the final examination. After successfully completing both stages, participants receive the official Integration Pass Certificate. This certificate forms part of the work permit renewal process.

STC Higher Education recently took part in the Career Fair at St. Edward’s College. The event gave our team the chance to meet students exploring their future academic paths and next steps after school.

Throughout the day, many students visited our stand to learn about study opportunities at STC Higher Education. Our team discussed progression routes, student life, and the advantages of studying internationally recognised Business and Computing degrees in Malta. These conversations helped students better understand how different programmes support their academic and career goals.

In addition, we shared informational materials to introduce the programmes available at STC. Students asked questions, explored study options, and learned more about our learning environment. Many also expressed interest in the Business and Computing pathways, which offer clear progression from foundation to undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

A highlight of the day was the talk from our Academic Leaders. During the session, they discussed the value of Business and Computing degrees and their role in today’s global economy. They also explained how industries continue to evolve and why skills such as digital literacy, strategic thinking, and problem-solving are increasingly important.

Furthermore, Mr. Steven Camilleri, Academic Leader of the Computing School, and Ms. Marvic Francalanza, Academic Leader of the Business School, led the session. They explained how practical projects, industry-focused modules, and recognised qualifications prepare students for careers in business and technology.

Overall, events like the St. Edward’s College Career Fair help students connect with STC Higher Education. At the same time, they provide an opportunity to explore study options and discover how Business and Computing degrees can support their future careers.

On November 8th, 2024, the historic city of Mdina, known as “the silent city,” transformed into a vibrant stage of celebration, pride, and achievement as STC Higher Education, in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton, hosted its Graduation Ceremony 2024. Graduates from diverse fields of study, including BA (Hons) in Business Management, BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, BSc (Hons) in Cybersecurity, BSc (Hons) in Computer Science (Games Development), and MSc Cyber Security, gathered with their families and faculty to celebrate the culmination of years of dedication and hard work. The ceremony marked a new chapter, highlighting their resilience and ambition.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr Evarist Bartolo, Ex-Minister of Education and Foreign Affairs; Dr Gurmak Singh, Head of Partnerships and Recruitment (FABSS), and Dr Peter Wardle, Head of Partnerships (Home and International) for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, both representing the University of Wolverhampton. Their inspiring words highlighted the importance of perseverance and lifelong learning in a rapidly evolving world. Leading the celebrations were Ms Ana Pace Bonello, STC’s Head of Institution; Mr Steven Camilleri, Computing Academic Leader; and Dr Viana Hassan, Business Academic Leader, who all shared heartfelt congratulations to the graduates.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and pride as students walked across the stage, cheered on by their loved ones. At STC Higher Education, this ceremony stands as a reminder of our commitment to equipping our students with the tools and knowledge to excel and lead in their chosen fields.
