Front End Web Development
The Front End Web Development course introduces students to front-end web development and focuses on building modern, responsive websites. Students learn to create web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In addition, they apply CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap to design responsive layouts. They also enhance user experiences with dynamic features using libraries like jQuery.
Furthermore, the course develops practical skills in version control through GitHub and collaborative project workflows. Students also explore deployment and testing techniques to deliver functional, compatible, and user-friendly web applications.
This course forms part of the Diploma in Computing Level 4. Students can continue with the Diploma at a later stage as part of their academic progression.
The entry requirements for the Front End Web Development course are as follows:
- 4 O’ Levels including English and Mathematics
- MQF Level 4 Certificate or equivalent

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply front-end development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks, to build functional and visually appealing websites
- Design and implement responsive web pages that adapt to multiple devices using CSS frameworks and layout models such as Flexbox and CSS Grid
- Build dynamic and interactive websites using JavaScript, jQuery, and data visualization libraries
- Use version control systems (Git/GitHub) to manage project changes, collaborate effectively, and deploy websites to servers
- Develop and apply testing strategies, including cross-browser compatibility, to ensure websites function correctly and meet design specifications
On completion of this award, learners have the opportunity to continue with the full Diploma in Computing.
